INGREDIENTS:
4 cups fresh sliced peaches
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. mace
5 tbls. butter
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cup milk
|
| |
DIRECTIONS:
Combine
peaches, 3/4 cup sugar, and mace and set aside. Melt butter
in 8" x 12" oblong baking dish. Combine 1 cup sugar, flour,
baking powder, salt, and milk in small bowl. Then pour batter
mixture on top of melted butter. Spoon peach mixture on
top of batter.
Bake
in 350 oven for 50 minutes to 1 hour. Serve slightly warm
with a dollop of vanilla ice cream.
This is outstanding with tree ripened
fresh peaches, but I have also had great sucess using blackberries,
loganberries, bing cherries, and canned peaches.
